Can Cigarette Smoke Cause Severe Cough?

Hi. I was right by my mom when she was smoking, and I didn t move because I was talking to her, but I could feel the smoke going inside of me. Now after I got out from outside, I seem To be coughing a lot. Is it from the outside cold (it doesn t feel like it) or from the smoke

Hi,

Cigarette smoking creates lots of fumes and smoke of burning tobacco. It irritates and inflames the airway, nose, voice box and the whole respiratory tract. So it can cause allergic bronchitis and can create severe cough. Don't do passive smoking and stay away from it. Passive smoking is even worse than active smoking.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
