Can Brain Eating Bacteria Enter The Body Through A Tree Branch?
Hello I am somewhat of a hypochondriac but I would like to know. I recently walked into a tree branch by accident and I might have gotten a part of the branch up my nose. I was worried for a while if there is some sort of virus that I could possibly contract. I have heard about certain brain-eating amoebas in the soil and water I wonder if I could get one of these in my head from the branch. Currently a relative of mine has the flu and I have a headache. Not sure if it could be early signs of an amoeba or if I could possibly have the flu or other allergies. I have not been sneezing though.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It is quite likely to get infected by the tree branch. If you have a headache, then it might be due to stress, lack of sleep, allergy, migraine, etc. Take Paracetamol and watch for the impact.
Hope this helps.
Warm regards.
