Can Boric Acid Be Used For Spots On The Legs In A Diabetic Patient?

I have a spot on my leg that is caused from diabetic related issues. my dr and a wound specialist has been treating it with steroids and steroid cream. I am going to soak it with an epsom salt bath and am wanting to add boric acid to the soak. What would the dosage be for this?
