Can Body Itching, Low Blood Counts With An Enlarged Spleen Be Treated?

i have intense itching with no rash-bad enough to keep me up at night. Seems like I have had this itching for months and it just keeps getting worse-driving me crazy. My blood counts are very low-not critical the doctors tell me. The dermatologist tells me the itching is from something internal. I just found out that I have an enlarged spleen. I am seeing a hematologist about my blood counts. He wants to do a bone marrow test. My biggest concern right now is the itching, it is affecting my sleep and my work. I am exhausted all the time. What treatment do you suggest.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi. The itching could be noted in anemic patients and it responds to correction of hemoglobin level. Meanwhile, take a sedating antihistamine like hydroxyzine and apply soothing lotion like venusia soft lotion twice daily. Hope it helps.
