Can Bilateral Knee Surgery Cause Numbness Of Foot?

I will be having bilateral knee surger in early June. I am a skier, mtn biker, road biker etc, 60 years old, excellent health. It seems after receiving a date for knee replacements, and after a couple of days of powder skiing, my calf seemed to seize up into a knot and my right foot experienced numbness. It's been about a week and the numbness has settled in my heel and a bit on the side. Knees, of course, are still aching but with celebres under control. Anyting?
