Can Beetroot Cause Red Soft Stool?

hi, i am normally severely constipated and have to take senna to go, however, i ate beetroot with my supper last night and this morning i drank some dusli tea found tha i wanted to go to the toilet which is very unusual for me. my stool was soft and when i wiped there was redness looking like the colour of beetroot in my stool, when i flushed the toilet i noticed more redness that had came out in the stool what is that about please?

Hello,
Yes beets can cause the stool to be a red color. This can be alarming but is not a problem. If the redness persists when you have not eaten beats see your doctor
