It affects lower lobes more than upper lobes. It also deposit in pleura and cause pleural calcification and fibrosis. So your lung findings are typical of asbestosis. It is due to prolonged exposure to asbestos dust.It is mostly workplace related exposure. These changes are irreversible. We can only halt the progression. So first step is to change the work place. Get done PFT ( pulmonary function test ) to know the severity of functional damage of lungs. And according to PFT report, you may need inhaled bronchodilators. Also vaccinate yourself with adult respiratory vaccines like pneumococcal and influenza to prevent future respiratory tract infection.
