Can Any Infection Spread Through Canker Sore In Mouth?

Hi there. I was engaged in sexual activity last night when I managed to get blood in my mouth. To my knowledge I did not swallow it. My partner is been strong in claiming he has been screened for STD s and is clean. I also have a canker sore on the inside of my lip. What should I do?

Thank you for query. The chance of transmission of HIV i suppose is bothering you.it is very very less by the oral route.the partner is also Negative for STD is making chances nil.But the diseases like herpes can be transmitted by kiss. The HIV do not survive in the oral cavity and GIT so the chances are least as you have some canker sore which is open.if you still have doubts or anxious about HIV you can get yourself tested for HIV RNA PCR after atleast 13 days of exposure to rule out HIV. the other stds cannot be transmitted except herpes if partner has active lesions.you can observe for 2 weeks for any symptoms of herpes. You can get back for any clarifications with details.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and venereologist
