Can Alcohol Be Consumed When Diagnosed With Cirrhosis?

So if a person is diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and then returns to alcohol, and drinks heavily, that can result in death, correct? We just recently had a family member pass way, and I suspect this was the cause, though his children won t get the autopsy results for a few weeks. What should we be aware of?
