Can A Person Get MS From Having A Blood Transfusion?
I have MS nobody in my family has ever had it. I have had on two different times blood transfusion once when I had my youngest child on then again when I had by-pass surgery. my question is can a person get MS from having blood transfusion? I have looked it up about donated blood and they don t or wont tell if the blood is tested for MS
Hello and welcome to HCM, Multiple sclerosis (MS) is not transmitted by blood transfusion. MS is a non-communicable disease caused by degeneration of neurons in white mater of brain. Thus, it cannot get transmitted by blood transfusion or by any other body fluid.
