Can A New Dental Crown Cause Headache?

I recently had the final stage of a dental implant done. No issues until after the cap was put on. I have had a head ache now for over a week. I have no aches or swelling in my mouth or around the implant itself. Could this be the cause of headaches or a result of the dental cap?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of headache after using dental crown which seems to be due to flaring up of infection and sometimes build of pressure inside crown area. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit oral physician once and get complete examination done and go for X-ray of that particular tooth done.

Take proper course of antibiotics along with antiinflammatory medications and maintain complete oral hygiene and drink plenty of fluids. Do warm saline rinses to maintain hygiene.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
