Can A Nasal Biopsy Cause Pleural Parenchymal Scarring?

I once had a biopsy in which a scope was inserted through my nostril to look through a scope. However with the equipment in my nose and lungs area, the xray machine broke and the lights came on and the equipment was still in my nose. My question would that incident could have cause mild biapical pleura/parenchyma scarring?

Hello,

Usually fibrobroncoscopy does not reach the pleura. Anyway, it depends on the performed procedure and the pleura/parenchyma scarring region. You should discuss with the doctor on this issue.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
