Can A Leaky Valve Have The Same Symptoms As Heart Disease?

I have an 87 yr old dad. He went into emergency with a diagnosis of heart disease. He recently had a tube ran through his thigh area to see if there was any additinal issues. There has been a leaky valve detected.could he have been miss diagnosed with heart disease and the on.y issue a leaky valve. I guess my question is; can a leaky valve have the same symptoms as heart disease and maybe he doesn’t have heart disease?

Hello

After going through your medical details, I understand your concern about your father’s health and I would like to tell you that all heart diseases can have resembling symptoms and leaky valve is in itself a cardiac disease.

Angiogram would have been done to diagnose coronary artery disease so that if he has to get his valve replaced then coronary artery disease should also get managed at the same time.

It is not the one type of heart disease is there but different kind of lesions are there in heart and every different kind of illness gives different symptoms all the heart diseases are not similar in symptoms, you have not mentioned the symptom that patient had, valvular heart disease have different symptoms while cardiac artery disease have different symptoms.
