Can A Large Bruise On The Buttocks After An Injury Be Treated?

This seems to be a common strand, but I ve taken a prat fall in a play I m in, and landed on the same part of my upper right buttock one too many times. I developed a large bruise, and now it feels like I m sitting on a rock. It just happened last weekend. My mobility is somewhat limited right now, and sitting is uncomfortable. Will it go away on it s own, or do I need treatment? Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I recommend using cool compresses for local application. I also suggest using vitamin K for local application. In the case of pain, you can use anti-inflammatory medication such as Acetaminophen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
