Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello.my fiance is pregnant around twenty weeks and is rh negative. She is due for her rhogam shot in a week or two. She was leaving our house for work where she is a dsp at a group home and hit her head off the bathroom door. We have both read a lot about the shot and about situations of abdominal trauma that warrant getting the shot early, but I can t find any information about the necessity in any other circumstance. She has a goose egg so we are not sure whether or not she broke a blood vessel on her forehead. Her gynecologist is not open today. Is it necessary to get the rhogam shot early in this situation or is it strictly an issue of bumping the baby? So far I can t get any medical advice over the phone and she feels fine. The only thing anybody has told us on the phone is that if we feel she needs emergency care to consider going to the emergency room, but we don t feel that she does unless of course the RH incompatibility could possibly be an issue in this case . Thank you.
