Can A Cortisone Injection Cause Degeneration Of A Uterine Fibroid?
Can a cortisone injection cause degeneration of a uterine fibroid? I just had 31 days of vaginal bleeding which started 7 days after the injection which was given to me for a sore knee, I was given a Kenalog injection. I am 71 years old and never knew I had a fibroid, I never had pain, only the bleeding after the injection. An ultra sound showed that I had a degenerated fibroid. A biopsy came out negative. Thank you

It is not much knows that steroids affect the fibroids and cause them to degenerate.
Very likely what has happened is not related to the steroid injection in your knee.
