Can Voxidep, Arzu And Zosert Cause Weight Gain?

Hello, I am Kushal Mandal , a patient of OCD . I have been on zosert 100mg, Voxidep 25mg, and Arzu 10mg for more than 5 months during which I unexpectedly gained almost 22 pounds despite exercising daily and maintaining a proper diet. So, my question is that do the above mentioned medicines cause weight gain ?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Arzu is a brand name of Aripiprazole and it is well known for its side effects including weight gain. Aripiprazole can cause significant weight gain on prolonged use. You can try alternatives for Aripiprazole after discussing with your psychiatrist.

Wishing you good health.

Thanks.
