Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 85 yr old mother is in a memory care facility. She has a UTI, symptoms were noticed on Wed of last week. Test was not completed and diagnosis back from the doctor until. They first said the UTI was resistant to oral antibiotics and we would have to take her to Emergency Room to get antibiotics by IV. Then they said the oral antibiotics might work and she has to stay in quarantine for the next seven days while they see how treatment works. Can UTI s really be contagious?
