Can Prednisone Be Taken For Persistent Cough Caused By Pulmonary Sarcoidosis?

I have pulmonary sarcoidoisis that has been in remission for the past several years (my lungs have been affected when I was acute. I had DVT and have been on Eliquis for the past month with no side affect. I have begun coughing in the past 23 hours similar to when I was acute with my pulmonary sarcoidosis - sometimes to the point of almost throwing up. May i take a bolus (40-50 mg) of prednisone to calm my cough? (I coughed for several years w/o prednisone until my pul sarcoid became quite acute.)

Hi. While the prednisone may help, instead of treating yourself you should see a doctor for an exam and a chest x-ray to rule out pneumonia
