Can OTC Antihistamine Be Taken For Allergic Reaction For Ibuprofen?

I have an allergy to ibuprofen that usually results in torso rash or mild wheeze. Despite this, I used 400mg of ibupro for shoulder/neck pain. I now have a swelling around my mouth and jaw on the same side as the shoulder pain. I m thinking of taking an OTC antihistamine. Please advise.

Hello,

Nope, I wouldn't advise that. Its always better to go to an ER and get medication there itself.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
