Hello.
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read you message.
I think I can help you.First and foremost, you need to know that IBS is not a disease that has a cure. It can only be treated.
So yes, you will need to take Normaxin for a long time for continued benefits.
And yes, if you stop the medicine, your symptoms will prevail.
Tab Normaxin contains Clidinium (2.5mg),
Chlordiazepoxide (5mg),
Dicyclomine (10mg).
Considering all the side effects of each component, Normaxin has the following side effect profile-
nausea,
nervousness, weakness, dizziness,
blurred vision, dry mouth, sleepiness, slurred speech, memory impairment, fatigue, uncoordinated body movements, irritability, headache, depression. However, as I said, it is needed for the continued effects against IBS.
You could probably meet your prescribing doctor for dose adjustment if the
drowsiness is too high. Since you have not mentioned the exact dose of the medicine that you are taking, I cannot suggest an alternative dosing.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible.
I hope that you find the information useful.
Feel free to write a follow up query if you need any further clarification.
Best wishes,
Dr Mittal
