Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for asking. IN my opinion your child seems to have nephrotic syndrome. Did his urine report suggest proteins or albumin in urine. It is a condition in which child looses protein in urine and due to the hypoprotenemia has facial and other soft tissue edema. Usually it is treated with steroids for around twelve weeks but duration may vary with the response of your child. The management of the first episode is very important as this condition may occur again. Kindly consult a nephrologist.
