Can Neomycin Cause Hearing Loss?

I was prescribed neomycin and polymyxin b sulfates and hydrocortisone today after a medical provider at urgent care removed wax from my ear..hesaid some of the wax was adhered to my canal and it looked irritated. Should I take this? I read that the neomycin can cause hearing loss. YYYY@YYYY

Yes irreversible deafness may develop even if the drug is stopped at the first sign of damage. Loss of hearing may occur as a result of topical applications to wounds or other denuded areas, particularly if renal excretion is impaired. Instillation of ear drops containing Neomycin can result in deafness. This generally develops in the second week of treatment and is usually reversible.
So polynucleotide also may cause hearing damage.
