Can Morphine Be Taken In Place Of OxyContin?

I was taking 80mg of OxyContin with 10mg of 10/325 of percocet for breakthrough pain. My Dr. changed my OxyContin to 100mg of Morphine twice a day. And I still take the Percocet. The prescription was written last Thursday and I filled it. I haven t taken the morphine and I m in excruciating pain. I m just scared of change. Will the morphine be stronger than the Oxycontin? I don t want to take something that might make me feel that I m not in control. Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and thanks you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein and I will try to help you as much as I can with my answer.

Yes, Morphine is much stronger than oxycotine and it may lead to some side effects such as drowsiness or addiction so it should be taken only under supervision of doctor and I don't recommend to take it on your hand.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
