Can Miralax And Mineral Oil Be Continued Despite Having Orange Colored Stool?

HI my daughter suffers from chronic constipation. She is 9. Her doctor has advised me to give her a dose of Miralax in the morning and 2 tablespoons of mineral oil at night. Her stool has since turned orange. It is not leaking but is orange every time she goes to the bathroom. Is this ok or should she stop taking the oil. I haven t gotten in touch with her doctor yet.

Hi,

When mineral oil is given - it is sometimes expected for orange colored stools to be passed and you just need to be watchful of dehydration.

Unless the kid's having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or blood in motion or green bilious vomiting. You need not worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
