Can Metformin 1000mg Pill Be Cut Into Half And Used As 500mg Dosage?
Hello, My doctor made a mistake and gave me a new presription for Metformin 1000 mg my pill has a G 12 imprinted on it. Is this pill Metformin do you know? I am only suppose to be taking 500 mg Z 71. I just thought they changed my generic drug since I was up north I did not have my pill bottle. Have been taking this pill for 3 to 4 days and have had 2 diabetic attacks. Can I take this G 12 Metformin and cut it in half tomorrow?
yes you can cut in into half and take half of the pill if its possible...there is no problem to have half of a double dosage tablet as far as treatment is concerned.... use the current strip of medicines by cutting into half and remember to purchase the next lot of medicines after consulting your physician....
you have said you had 2 diabetic attacks in the last 4 days... if even after reducing the doasge, the attacks continue, kindly consult your doctor immediately....maybe the new medications are not suiting you....
hope this was useful...
take care... regards
