Can Magnesium Citrate Be Taken While Having Stents In Both The Kidneys?

I had stents implanted on 7/13 in both kidneys - they left one had to be inserted through the left kidney. Due to excessive pain to have taken 23 or 24 Hydrocodone-during the period 72/7/23 which resulted in me being constipated. My gastro. doctor suggested I take Magnesium Citrate to relieve the constipation- a note in the bottle indicates I should contact my doctors before taken this for kidney disease. My attending surgeon indicted at the implanting of the stents is not considered a kidney disease. Will it be OK to take the Magnesium - my constipation has be partially relieved.

Hello. I see no problem with taking the mag citrate and it's what your doctor recommended. You don't really have actual kidney disease
