Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 66 years old and my dr gave me loratadine for my allergies. When I first started taking it i notice a little blood when I wiped so I stopped and within two days the bleeding stopped. two days ago I started taken the medication again and now I am experiencing the blood when I wipe again
Hello, I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns. Loratidine is a relatively safe drug and side effects are very minimal when compared to other antihistamines. Bleeding manifestation is not reported as a side effect of loratidine and in your case it might be due to some other causes like hemorrhoids. I suggest you to consult a general surgeon and get a detailed evaluation done to find out exact cause of your problem.
Wishing you good health. Regards.
