Can Lactogen Be Given Along With Breast Milk To A Baby?

Hi doctor my wife & have a baby 3weeks old she use suck a lot of milk there after my wife started feeling pain on her nipples while breastfeeding so we decided to buy lactogen 1 2 suppliment we using both breast & lactogen what could the effects to the baby

Hi, thanks for asking.
I can understand your concerns.
No giving both breast milk and the lactogen will not harm the baby. But in my opinion the baby must not be latching properly or latching in the proper position. That is why there is pain in the nipple. To have a good latch the whole of the areola and not only the nipple should be in the wide open mouth of the baby. If you will see to it that the baby has latched properly then your wife will not have pain in the nipples. If she has cracks in the nipple they keep it dry and apply nipcure ointment.
