Can Keflex Be Taken During Pregnancy?

Hi. I m pregnant and was just told I have cellulitis infection in my ear. They gave me a prescription for keflex. I went to the ER for a second opinion and was first told take the keflex, and then told maybe I should stay and get iv antibiotics. Should I wait till the morning and ask my ob what to do? Is it safe to take?

Thanks for asking.I understand your concern.
Keflex (cephalaxin) is a safe drug in pregnancy.
Ear 8nfection (cellulitis) if bacterial needs to be treated by antibiotic. The treatmentcan beby oral or injectable route... depending on severity of infection&it can bedecided by local examination &symptoms you have.
So if advised by an expert doctor for injectable antibiotic ...please follow the advise,start with injectabletreatment in ER &followed by treatment as per advise of your doctor.
