Hi.. Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC.. I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.. As per your complain it seems that you have an impacted wisdom tooth and the gum flap over wisdom tooth is swollen and it is leading to Pericoronitis.. It occurs due to accumulation of debris and food particles below the gum flap leading to infection and inflammation and for this antibiotics are needed to be taken along with anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.. Therefore I would suggest you to consult your treating dentist and get evaluated and he can advise you antibiotics like Augmentin along with Ibuprofen for relief.. You need not to worry as antibiotics can be taken with Ibuprofen as they do not cause any severe drug interaction.. You can also do warm saline gargles and do cool compreses over the cheek. Hope this information helps.. Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
