Can Ibuprofen Along With Ramipril Cause Drowsiness And Nausea?

Hello, I take ramipril and clopidogral after a heart attack and stent insertion. This past while I have also been suffering from sciatica pain. My doctor prescribed ibuprofen and cocodamol on Friday which I have taken 4 times a day. Yesterday I got a bad headache, felt very drowsy and nauseous. Could the medication mix be responsible. Many thanks Simon

Hi,

Both Ibuprofen and Cocodamol may cause symptoms of falling sick or nausea and sleepiness as well as tiredness. Particularly, Cocodamol is an opium derivative and hence, may cause more feeling of drowsiness as well as sleepiness. This also has a property of causing addiction. Hence, the dosage of Ibuprofen and Cocodamol should be kept to the minimum possible doses. Particularly with Cocodamol, there is usually a temptation to increase the dose or take double dose. This should be always avoided to minimize the chances of addiction.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
