Can Ibuprofen Plus Be Given To An Infant For The Treatment Of Fever?

My baby is 8 months and he is having sore throat... salivating alot.. had fever 101 degree .. doctor suggested to give ibuprofen but very nxt day baby got rashes all over the body.. went for second openion .. with antibiotics doctor gave ibuprofen plus... Can I give ibuprofen plus ???

I understand your concern. In fact ibuprofen plus( which contain codeine also, right?) it is not recommended in children younger than 12 y o due to codeine.( I'm not sure if it contains codeine or not ) Please read on the box of the medication, if it contains codeine, you should not give to your baby, if it contains only ibuprofen you can give. Body rashes also can be a side effect of ibuprofen or codeine, we can't be sure from which of them. During this time have you given to your baby antibiotic? Because it could be also side effect of antibiotic.
