Can I Take Mylanta After Taking Gas X?
Can I take Mylanta after taking Gas X? I had Gas x (180 mg of simethicone) at 4:40 am last night Then I had about 5 ml (half a dose) of Mylanta at 5:05 pm Then I had another 5 ml (half a dose) of Mylanta at 9:15 pm So 1 dose 10 ML total which comes to 800 aluminum hydroxide 800 magnesium hydroxide 80 mg Simethicone Then I had another Gas X at 12:25 (180 mg simethicone) Is it okay to take another dose or half dose of Mylanta?

Total daily dose of Aluminum hydroxide may be 3-5 gm/day preferably divided into 4-5 doses. Similarly the daily maximum advisable dose of Magnesium hydroxide is also 3- 5 gm/day to be divided into 4- doses. However, total maximum advisable dose of simethicone is 300-500 mg/day.
Now, you should consider your over all doses in the above mentioned context. Going by this, your dose of Mylanta alone are in permissible limit as for as Aluminum hydroxide & Magnesium hydroxide are concerned. However, you have already near your daily advisable dose of Simethicone. Therefore, I will advise you not to take extra dose of Simethicone. However, one or two doses of Mylanta may be taken during the next 24 hours.
