I am a 55 yr old female with UC. I am coming out of a recent flare-up. It was suggested to me a few months ago that I may also have IC. I have a history of frequent bladder infections, but the last year or so I keep getting tested and have no infection. The urologist gave me phenazophyridine to keep on hand. I recently moved and am waiting for an appointment to get established with a new urologist. Meanwhile, I am having so much pain in my abdomen. It doesn t feel like my colon. My bladder is always feeling like I need to potty really bad, and I only have a trickle. I think its the IC (which was never completely diagnosed). I am also having severe pain in the back area, my kidneys. I have read that IC is sometimes treated with hyoscyamine, which I have for colon spasms, as needed. My question is..... can I take hyoscyamine and phenazophyridine at the same time for some relief, or do they do the same thing. It is the weekend. Should I go to the ER or can I wait to call for a doctor s appt on Monday.
