General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Contact with vaginal fluids can transmit HIV. The chance is 0.04% for each unprotected intercourse (or contact with infected vaginal fluids). I would recommend you to repeat the 4th generation HIV test after 45 days from the day of the encounter. If the test is negative, then it is unlikely you have HIV.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
