Can Fluoxetine, Omeprazole, Valsartan Hydrochlorothiazide Or Metoprolol Succinate Cause Gout?

I am taking a number of medications. 51 yr male. Fluoxetine, omerprazole, meterprolol succinate, and valsartan hydrocholorothiazid. My diet is not always the best. Red meat, fish, chicken and beer/ liquor. Can any of the med contribute to the increase in gout that I have experienced over the last 4 months? It had only happened trowel or three times in last 10 yrs , now three times since December .

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Non of the medications are likely to increase or aggravate the gout. But the food particularly red meat, organ meat and certain fishes which have high purine content do definitely contribute to aggravation or precipitating of gou attacks. Even alcohol also does the same thing. So please look at changing the diet. Your medications are fine. Those are essential for maintaining good health but the above mentioned food needs to be avoided. Thanks.
