Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a seven year old and a three year old both of then got prescribed. Qvar puffer and two diffrent antihistamines one for the nose its like flonase and clartin liquid daily along with their puffers. Im concerned if its safe for my boys to be taking two antihistamines at one time
Understanding your concern. As per your query your children have been prescribed Flonase and Claritin which are safe to take together as they don't have any bad interaction. Still i would suggest you to continue with Claritin nasal spray and you should stop Flonase as it is steroidal drug. You should give antibiotics along with nasal decongestant sprays. Do warm saline gargles. Give bed rest and steam inhalation to your children. Visit ENT specialist once and get throat culture and sputum test done to find out exact cause and start treatment accordingly. Give them plenty of fluids and diet rich in multivitamins.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
