Can Dramamine Be Taken Before A Colonoscopy?

I m having a colonoscopy in 2 days. The day before the procedure, when I m doing my clear liquid diet, I hope to go salmon fishing. When I go out on the ocean, I usually take a 50 mg Dramamine tablet. It is not on my list of meds to avoid but I was wondering if it will cause any problems with my procedure the next day. Thank you for your opinion, Clark Blanchard

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

So far as Dramamine tablet intake is concerned, before a colonoscopy, yes, you can take it before 24 hours of the procedure, not beyond that period for safety reasons in concern with drug clearance and else.

I would like to assist further at anytime.

Regards.
