Can DVT Or Gout Cause Mildly Enlarged Spleen As Shown In The CT Scan?

I recently was diagnosed with a DVT in my lower left extremity. In the process I also had a gout flare in my right knee rendering my immobile for quite sometime. My Utica acid levels is 8.5. A ct scan and CBC were performed because of my anxiety that I had some form of cancer. My sister is a lymphoma survivor so I am scared. My CBC is all in normal range. M spike was not found. Ct scan showed a mildly enlarged spleen of 14.7cm. Can this be from DVT or gout? I am nervous. Hematologist/oncologist said we will recheck in 3 months and isn t too concerned. Anxiety is thru the roof.

Hello,

I don't think that gout or DVT have any role in the spleen enlargement. We need to do some other tests to rule what is the cause for it.

DVT is a different condition and has no connection with the spleen. Meet up the physician and with proper clinical examination and assessment, they will take the next call.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
