Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have RX for pain: APAP/CODEINE TAB 300-30MG, and was told it is a combination of Tylenol and Codeine. I ve not taken it. My concern is that it may interact negatively with one or more of the many meds I take for heart and lung conditions, including Warfarin blood thinner (have artificial mitral and aortic valves). Any suggestions? Thank you!
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Warfarin doesn't interact with codeine. You can take codeine along with Warfarin with out any concerns. Monitor INR regularly while you are on Warfarin.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
