Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can a patient age 17 take Celexa/ Citalopram 40 mg. with Clonidine/Catapres 0.1 mg at the same time or should they be taken at different times? Doctor recommended Clonidine at night but that is when she takes other normally at night with her birth control (Trinessa). Want to make sure there are no interactions. Rose
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
There are no known interactions between these 3 medications: Trinessa, Clonidine, or Celexa. They can interact with other agents so if there are any additional herbal or traditional medications, these should also be crosschecked. She can use them safely together.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
