Can Azithromycin Be Given For Gastroparesis?

Does azithromycin come in a patch? My friend suffers with acute gastroparesis and needs this antibotic but cannot keep it down. The doctors here in Huntsville, AL says they don t know what to do for her. We are looking at Emory for a physician. In the meantime we are doing all we can. Hope this comes

Dear yes Erythromycin and azithromycine can be given for gastroperisis.

The most common etiologies of GP are diabetes, post-surgical, medication-induced, idiopathic or post-viral infection causing functional dyspepsia .

Erythromycin may cause enzymes induction and ecg rhythm changes so in that place of erythromycin we can use azithromycine.

If she is not improving may need to alternative prokinetic agents like levosulphuride or domperifone or metaclopramide etc..

Please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
