Can Asthalin And Budecort Be Given Together For A 6-month-old?

Hi, My 6 month old suffered from high fever, 103, and cough and chest congestion. We took her to hospital where we caried out blood and urine test and culture for her. Blood test showed C reactive protein to be 80. Blood culture showed no growth. Urine routine and culture were normal. Doctor advised ceftriaxone through iv. Apat from that doctor also advised Asthalin 2.5 mg 3 times for 7 days and Budecort 0.5 mg 2 times a day for 30 days!! It s 6th day of the iv infusion today and my daughter is already feeling better with no fever and slight cough still remaining. Just want to know if this medication is correct treatment?? It s very difficult to give nebulisation to 6 month old as she keeps crying for the whole time while the mask is on. Also, if it is absolute necessary to give nebulization then can we mix Asthalin and Budecort together?? Please help!! Thanks Swapnil

hi,
1)yes the nebulization is do given to the children, than any other systemic drugs the nebulization gives a better relief for breathing, if your child is very irritable by it then talk to the pediatrician for alternative medicine,
2) both asthalin and budecort can be mixed and given together.
