Can Arginine Be Taken During Pregnancy?

Respected sir/madam I am 37 weeks and 6 days pregnant. Last week diagnosed with A.C. less then 10 percentile and weight of foetus is 2.7 kg. Doctor advised me to take arginine powder is it safe and can I go for normal labour or only C Section is safe way kindly suggest

Hi, I think you can take arginine. It helps in improving the amniotic fluid level. It is safe to take. Your baby weight looks fine. If your pains start on your own, normal delivery can occur. But your fluid level is much less than Normal. So, get a umbilical artery Doppler monitored every 3rd day. If it shows abnormality and fluid remains less, better to go for a c section early. Discuss with your doctor regarding this. Your baby is now mature enough to survive outside. So, don't worry about it. Hope it helps.
