Bump On Back Of Head, Bites On Thigh And Wrists, Itching, Swelling Near Ear. Could It Be Lice?

I started out with some bumps on the back of my head (I thought they might be mosquito bites because I also have some bites on my thighs and wrists) which itched ferociously. I scratched them. They began to swell. Now my ear is also swollen (the external part) and it feels as if I have water in my ear. The back of my head down into my neck is so swollen I can barely tilt my head back. I don't see any lice.

Hi,

With short history, it seems that you might have developed prurigo on back of scalp.

The cause would be irritants or allergens

Soap,dust,fume,insects,shampoo... may be the cause.

There may be secondary infection also.

Take a short course of antibiotics.

Take antihistaminics to relieve itch.

Take a short and tappering course of steroids if needed.

Stress may exacerbate , so avoid stress.

You may be improved, but , you may consult dermatologist.
