Buckle Placed During Retinal Detachment Surgery. Any Better Remedy Than Putting And Removing Oil?

ist operation of R D. putting buckle. after about 4 months again operated and oil was put. After 4 to 5 months , oil was removed. Again in March 2011, oil was put and now agiain old oil will be removed and new oil to be put. My right eye almost gone.

My query is that how long removal of oil will go on? Any better remedy.

Retinal detachment surgery by silicone oil replacement is required for few complicated cases. The other option is using intraocular gases like perflurocarbons as an alternative to silicone oil.

You have to discuss with your vitreoretinal surgeon regarding this matter.
