Bloating, Acidity, Weight Gain. Normal Blood Results

constantly feel full and bloated. Stomach is always big. clothes are tight. full of gas all the time. weight gain. in one week i gained 3 pounds?? my daily intake of food is: oatmeal in the morning with a protein bar. a yogurt at lunch. and a small dinner. don't snack at night. This has been going on for a yr or more. I went to the doctors and was told it is probably IBS. blood work completed and all is normal?? something is wrong. Never, never like this. Always very thin. And now a whole different story. I am not sure what to do or where to go?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
I would come up with these possibilities , these includes.
1 Peptic ulcer disease or Hiatus hernia . As you mentioned that there is bloating ,fullness in stomach , indigestion ( gas formation).Diagnosis can be confirmed by upper G I endoscopy . Avoid greasy , spicy foods, alcohol, coffee, drinks caffeine in them , chocolates , sweets .
Also take some antacid but if symptoms are severe ( bloating , gas , fullness) than you may need drugs like proton pump inhibitors.
2 Tension is the second most probable reason of these symptoms.
3 Hyper tension may be the next reason . Diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination , clinical examination , history of illness. Sometimes I have noted in my many patients that bloating , fullness ( heaviness in epigastrium ) in stomach occurs due to hypertension.
In my opinion first of all consult a physician and get his opinion as mentioned above .
Good luck. Dr. HET
