Background: 61 year old male, Dx with Hep C (from sharing needles) in teens, does not seem to feel any long term effects of hepatitis. Generally healthy. Using most illegal drugs and drinking large to extreme amounts of alcohol for near 50 years, cannot and doesn't not care to quit after fairly recently (>1 yr) being Dx with cirrhosis, scarification of liver. Blood tests show most enzymes remain elevated. Confirmed, say, by color of urine seeming to show high bilirubin. Question: would this patient be given 3 weeks of oral chemotherapy, told it was for his liver, to lower his enzymes? During those three weeks there was no monitoring, no journaling, no phone calls, or blood draws. The three weeks would have ended the second week of February, and there still has been none of the above or any other follow-up. I am very skeptical about any of the chemotherapy story being true. I'd like the opinion of someone who majored in something other than psychology. Thank you.
