Are The Scan Reports Normal?

Hi My wife is 28, 5'4", 74 Kg. She had 17 week scan today and the report says that her placenta is posterior, reaching up to OS, with grade 1. No e/o placenta praevia / retroplacental clot. And her BP is 140/90. Please suggest whether the reports are normal. What special care she should take.
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Your query is important.
The placenta is at a position where it is encroaching the internal opening of the uterus. This needs to be observed as the final placental position is known only after 28 weeks. If the placenta is reaching the os even in the last trimester then a normal delivery can get risky.

The blood pressure 140/ 90 mm Hg is on the higher side and further discussion with your doctor is following proper instructions is recommended.
